It’s official ladies and gentlemen: Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has been crowned the ultimate beauty icon of England.

QVC, a popular shopping channel, recently held a poll to find out who the ordinary folk of Britain thought was the epitome of beauty in their nation. In a landslide victory, the new commoner-turned-royal garnered 61% of the vote.

Give the People what they Want

The poll, which asked the people what their various beautification preferences were, was published June 4th. Middleton managed to top Cheryl Cole and Cara Delevingne, who each took second and third place on the poll respectively.

Always managing to look fabulous, it is no wonder that the royalty won out. But there was another side to this poll. Besides finding out who most Brits thought was beautiful, the poll actually is intended for research, to help steer beauty companies in the UK towards meeting their consumer’s needs.

“This research shows how important make-up is to us Brits,” commented Beauty Buying Director Jo Lee. “Not only does it help us to feel more comfortable in our own skin, but it’s a real confidence booster.

Perfectly prepped hair and a clear complexion can really go a long way! QVC’s dedicated beauty month provides the latest beauty trends, plus advice on how to use the beauty industry’s newest innovations.”

It’s Only Natural

The poll clearly showed that the UK favors a more natural, classic look. Clear, natural skin was shown to be heavily favored over the bronzed look of a tan, and nude lips were shown to be preferred to striking red pout.

This preference was not solely a female opinion, either. Men polled also stated that they preferred the Duchess’ natural, approachable look to other celebs like Emma Watson and Michelle Keegan.

Whatever this royal is doing, she should keep it up. If there ever comes a day when her princely hubby is crowned king, men and women all over the world will find themselves saying, “God save the Queen.”
