After a 5-year-long relationship, Stacey Solomon and Aaron Barnham have decided to end their engagement and take some time apart. Sources close to Stacey have revealed the rumors that were circulating are in fact true about the couple.

The split

Stacey Solomon has recently split from Aaron Barnham, who she has been engaged to since 2011 and dating since 2009. While the couple has not yet talked to reporters about the split, Stacey’s spokesman told reporters that they did in fact break up and called off their engagement. There are rumors going around that the reason for the split has to do with her children.

It is no surprise that Stacey puts her two sons above all else and her spokesman says she thanks her fans for their support and privacy during this difficult time.

Another source told Closer magazine that this is not a new revelation and they have been dealing with problems for quite some time.

It is not uncommon for a celebrity or public figure going through a difficult personal ordeal and not wanting to discuss it with the media quite yet.

The couple started dating in 2009, not long after her appearance on “The X Factor,” and announced their engagement after she got pregnant with her second son in 2011.

The kids

Stacey Solomon has two kids, six-year-old Zachary who is from a previous relationship, and 2-year-old Leighton, who is the child of Stacey and Aaron. Not only does Stacey think her sons’ happiness is the most important thing in her life, but she expressed wanting more children in the future too. During a recent interview, she mentioned she would like to have another child someday, hopefully a girl this time.
